Between Mimi and you
The modern Chinese tapas restaurant sits on the upper floor of The Riverhouse, and aptly named ‘secret’
in Mandarin. Mimi brings to life its enchantingly melodious blend of tradition and modernity,
through its unique modern Chinese tapas menu, and playful yet opulent interior.
Embodying its name in every aspect, the restaurant is a secret location within the grandiose
structure, with two unassuming entrances to the curious onlooker.
IN THE KITCHEN
Under the creative direction of Chef Sam Chong and Executive Culinary Director Chef Daniel Koh, this duo lends more than 20 years of culinary experience and boasts seasoned skills and expertise across various areas of Chinese cuisine. With an emphasis on sharing, diners can expect modern renditions of old and forgotten dishes.
Executive Culinary Director
Chef Daniel plays a key role in polishing the modern Chinese tapas narrative – resulting in the sorting of dishes according to cooking method for ease of ordering, and the addition of his award-winning Salmon Medallions dish, tweaked to match the restaurant's modern Chinese tapas style.
Chef Daniel has served on several televised cooking competitions on Channel 8 such as Neighbourhood Chef 1 and 2 (邻里厨王 1 和 2) and is currently filming a new cooking programme which focuses on elevating our local cuisine.
At Mimi, Chef Sam conceptualised the modern Chinese tapas menu featuring old and forgotten dishes – presented in a contemporary small plates fashion. Including newfangled technology such as espuma alongside traditional handcrafted techniques, Chef Sam has brought married history and modernity successfully at Mimi.
